What's New on Songspace This Week

alt

1. Fresh Facelift

Songspace just got a little bit sexier. We’ve updated the catalog and song edit pages to make it easier to navigate.

What to look for:

Top Menu

You can get to the catalog from wherever you are on Songspace by clicking the ‘catalog’ button or the Songspace icon.

Song Edit

We’re making it easier for you to know who’s been added as an editor to any song or folder.

2. Network Beta

Changes are a'comin!

In the spirit of making it easier to connect music to the people involved, we’ve been hard at work improving the Songspace network. Over the next few weeks we’ll be testing and rolling out improvements to make it easier for you to connect and share with people on Songspace. Bare with us as we make this feature awesome, because believe us, it's going to be awesome.

In the meantime, poke around and let us know if you have ideas or suggestions.

What to look for:

Contacts & Connections

We’ve added a contacts section so you can better connect the people you work with to your music.

Contacts & Connections make it easier to:

  • Share people on songs and projects with others on Songspace.
  • Organize credits and pitches around a specific person, regardless of whether they're on Songspace or not.

Questions about this section? Hit us up directly and we’ll give you a personal walkthrough of what we're up to and where we’re headed. >>> support{at}songspace{dot}com

3. Updated Writer Credits

You spoke, and we listened. We’re making it simpler to create and add writer credits to songs.

Writer credits are a powerful way to quickly credit songwriters, publishers, and administrators. Music publishing (and especially music publishing data) is complicated. We can’t change that, but we are making it easier for people to find and credit each other on songs.

What you need to know:

Writer Credits are NOT People

When you add a credit to the ‘Publishing Credits’ section of a song page, you’re just adding the writer's credit information, not the person as a collaborator or editor of the song.

Why? A lot of you have songs you want to credit outside writers on, but you don't want them to have access to edit. We get it. Now it's easier to do that.

You Can Add Collaborators to Songs in the 'Sharing' Section

If you want to add or invite people to Songspace to edit or collaborate on a song, do so in the Sharing section of the song edit page.
